SULLIVAN COUNTY - History
Fort Womack, which stood two miles east of Bluff City, was built by Jacob
Womack. It afforded protection for the people who lived in the territory now
covered by the Fourth, Sixteenth, Ninth and Twentieth Civil Districts.
